Days Since Calculator
Enter a date in the past and see how many days have passed, then the same span in weeks, months, hours and minutes, with the dates of your next milestones.
Pick a date in the past. The count runs up to today in your local time zone.
What you get from a past date
The main number is the count of whole calendar days from your date up to today. Below it, the grid converts the same span into weeks and days, calendar months and years, hours and minutes. The line at the bottom looks ahead and gives the date of the next 100-day mark and the next anniversary, so you can plan for it.
People use a days-since count for many kinds of dates: the day they moved, started a job, quit a habit, adopted a pet, began a relationship or opened a business. A day count makes progress visible in a way a year count cannot, especially in the first months when the number of days changes quickly.
Common milestones in days
Round day counts are widely used as checkpoints. The table of examples below shows how they translate into calendar time, using a 365.2425-day average year.
| Days | Weeks | About |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | 4 weeks and 2 days | 1 month |
| 100 | 14 weeks and 2 days | 3.3 months |
| 365 | 52 weeks and 1 day | 1 year |
| 500 | 71 weeks and 3 days | 1.37 years |
| 1,000 | 142 weeks and 6 days | 2.74 years |
| 10,000 | 1,428 weeks and 4 days | 27.4 years |
Leap days and anniversaries
If your date is February 29, its anniversary in non-leap years falls on February 28 in this calculator. Other tools or legal systems may treat it as March 1, so check any official rule when it matters. The day count itself is unaffected, because it is a straight count of calendar days.
As with every date tool here, the numbers use your device's date and time zone, and nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
How many days have passed since a date?
Enter the date above. The calculator subtracts it from today's date and shows the whole number of days, plus weeks, months, hours and minutes.
Is the start date counted as day 1?
No. The start date is day 0, so tomorrow it will be 1 day since. If you want a count that includes the start date, add one.
When is my next 100-day mark?
The Next marks line gives the date and the weekday of the next multiple of 100 days, and how many days away it is.
What happens with a February 29 date?
The day count is exact. For the anniversary date in non-leap years the calculator uses February 28.
Can I count days since a date in the future?
No. For a future date the tool says so and suggests the days until calculator, which counts down instead.
